On May 2nd, the Alexandria City Council approved the FY 2024 budget (starting July 1st), which kept the 2023 property tax rate at $1.11 per $100 of assessed value, which is the same rate for 2022.
Although the rate remains the same, the average property owner's tax bill will increase by $445 due to higher assessed property value. This increase is 6.5% higher on average versus the 2022 property tax bill.
The first half 2023 tax bill is mailed in May and is due by June 15. The second half 2023 tax bill is mailed in October and is due by November 15.

Single Family (includes THs): +4.58%
Residential Condo: +3.48%
The average 2023 Assessed Value increases in the Landmark/Van Dorn Area are:
Single Family (includes THs): +4.96%
Residential Condo: +2.60%
The average 2023 Assessed Value increases in the Alexandria West Area (West of 395/bounded by King St./Arlington County on North, Van Dorn St. on East, & Fairfax County on West & South) are:
Single Family (includes THs): +5.12%
Residential Condo: +2.12%
